SUMMER SESSION FROM 06/07 - 08/01

Below is our weekly lesson schedule. We included the material that each class will cover to help you pick the right class to join. Each child can be registered for as many classes as they'd like to attend. Please contact us with any additional questions regarding our schedule, classes, etc.

BEGINNER CLASS 

Tuesday 2:30 PM

Best for chess players with 0-1 years of experience. Students don't need prior knowledge or experience. This class will cover:

  • Starting principles

  • Introduction to tactics

  • Common strategies and patterns

INTERMEDIATE CLASS

Tuesday 4:00 PM

Best for chess players with 1-2 years of experience and some prior knowledge of fundamentals and basics. This class will cover:​

  • Basic checkmates

  • General principles

  • Capturing pieces

ADVANCED CLASS

Wednesday 10:00 AM

Best for chess players with 2+ years of experience and maximum USCF rating of 1400. It is recommended that they understand general tactics and strategy. This class will cover:

  • Intermediate and advanced tactics

  • Middlegame strategy

  • Endgames

OPENING CLASS

Saturday 12:00 PM

This is a specialized class and is highly recommended for students who want to learn new openings and apply them in their own games. No rating or skill requirement to sign up. This class will cover:

  • Common opening lines

  • Opening variations

  • Opening traps

MATCHPLAY CLASS

Saturday 1:00 PM

This is a specialized class and is highly recommended for students looking for more playing experience and tournament preparation. No rating or skill requirement to sign up. This class will cover:

  • Practice games

  • Simuls

  • Game analysis

TACTICS CLASS

Sunday 7:00 PM

This is a specialized class and is highly recommended for students looking to enhance their tactical ability. It is recommended that they understand the basics and have around 1-3 years of experience. This class will cover:

  • Positional weaknesses

  • Winning material

  • Finding checkmates

Note that we're lenient on class placement. The amount of experience mentioned in the class descriptions is not required, only recommended.
